Community Standards
Tune Tavern is built around honest, direct musical exchange. These standards exist to protect every member of that exchange. We enforce them consistently and transparently. Last updated May 2026.
Prohibited Conduct
Hate Speech & Discrimination
Content or conduct that attacks, dehumanises, or incites hatred against any person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age. This includes slurs, dog-whistles, and imagery associated with hate groups.
Harassment & Threats
Targeted harassment — repeated unwanted contact, pile-ons, or coordinated attacks against a specific user. Explicit or implied threats of violence, self-harm, doxxing, or swatting. Rating-bombing an artist as part of a coordinated campaign rather than genuine listening feedback.
Doxxing & Privacy Violations
Publishing or threatening to publish a person's private information (home address, phone number, workplace, family details, financial information, or undisclosed identity) without their explicit consent.
Illegal Content
Any content that violates applicable law, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), content that facilitates illegal activity, or material subject to a valid court order. Illegal content is removed immediately and reported to relevant authorities.
Malicious Audio Uploads
Intentionally uploading audio engineered to cause harm — including files designed to damage speakers or hearing, files containing malware or embedded exploits, silent filler tracks submitted to game queue systems, or deliberate sub-bass clipping intended to damage playback equipment.
Uncleared Samples & Copyright Infringement
Uploading commercial recordings that sample third-party material without clearance. Deliberately reposting another artist's work under your own name. If you receive a DMCA takedown, respond via the counter-notification process rather than re-uploading the same content.
Impersonation
Creating an account or profile designed to impersonate another artist, public figure, or Tune Tavern staff member with intent to mislead. Parody accounts are permitted if clearly labelled as parody in the display name and bio.
Pay-to-Rate Manipulation
Coordinating with others to exchange ratings, purchasing fake listener accounts, using bots or scripts to inflate ratings or queue positions, or offering compensation (monetary or otherwise) in exchange for specific rating outcomes. This undermines the integrity of the platform for every artist.
Unflagged NSFW Content
Uploading sexually explicit or graphically violent content without using the NSFW flag, or uploading such content in contexts where it is never permitted (e.g., profile pictures, service thumbnails). The NSFW flag exists so adult audiences can opt in — bypassing it harms users who haven't consented.
Enforcement
Enforcement is graduated. We weigh severity, intent, prior history, and whether the violation was corrected when notified.
Warning
First or minor violations typically receive a written warning via email, with the specific rule cited. The offending content is removed and the incident is recorded on your account.
7-Day Suspension
Repeated minor violations, moderately serious first violations, or failure to comply with a warning. Access to creating sessions, submitting songs, and using Bartender services is suspended for 7 days. Existing data is retained.
Permanent Ban
Severe violations (hate speech, illegal content, doxxing, CSAM, physical threats) or repeated violations after two suspensions. Account is permanently disabled. In cases involving illegal content, relevant law enforcement may be notified.
Appeals
You may appeal any enforcement action you believe was issued in error or without sufficient cause. We take appeals seriously — moderation mistakes happen and we correct them.
- Appeals must be submitted within 14 days of the enforcement action.
- All appeals are reviewed within 7 business days by a team member who was not involved in the original decision.
- Provide specific reasons why the decision was incorrect — vague appeals are harder to evaluate.
- A final decision is emailed to you. If upheld, the action stands. If overturned, any suspension is lifted and the record is corrected.
Submit appeals to appeals@tunetavern.app with the subject line Appeal — [your username] — [date of action].
Reporting a Violation
Every piece of content and every user profile has a report button. Use it — reports from the community are our primary signal for moderation work. Provide as much context as possible so reviewers can act quickly.
For urgent matters (threats, illegal content, CSAM), email support@tunetavern.app directly and we will escalate within 1 business day.
These standards apply to all users, including hosts, artists, and listeners. Tune Tavern reserves the right to update these standards as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email and noted on this page.
